From the moment that I had conscious thoughts, I was enamored by the concept of “playing pretend.” Sometimes, that entailed forcing my dad to play with dolls with me, acting out elaborate scenes for each toy, or dancing and singing in front of the TV as I attempted to hop into the virtual universes on Nick Jr. When my great grandma asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I proudly proclaimed that I would be a “singer slash actress” (yes, I said “slash” out loud), and I became just that.
I began performing formally by the time I was eight, leaping at every opportunity to get my feet on a stage and to use my voice in front of an audience. I’ve always made every character unique, bringing my natural quirks to the forefront of my work. Particularly comedic acting, whether that be in theatre, film, or television, tingles my artistic and childlike joy.
My journey at NYU Tisch School of the Arts has shown me that I am an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. I’ve relentlessly trained to not only be a professional actor and singer, but also to become a well-rounded person.
When I’m not performing, my nose is in a book, or my hands are furiously writing my latest story. Now I just need to find a place to play my drums without waking up my neighbors!
